I have been doing some researching to how many people are asking about guns for self defense. Persoanally i think buying a gun for self defense is a huge mistake. I think that an ordinary person if they were faced with someone breaking in their house they would freeze and the gun would be taken away from them. ITs one thing to talk the talk, but another to walk the walk.
I work armed security and we train constantly for deadly force. I can't say how happy i am that i have never had to pull my gun, but we constantly train for the event.
I think of it like this. If you have to think how to use a gun, then you are not trained properly. I can't speek for all states, but where i live in WI. you can not use deadly force to protect your home. If someone breaks in and you shoot them, you could have commited a crime.
I discuss this even more at my site, but i am curious to hear other people thoughts, but no, i do not want to start an argument over gun control.
the average person can pull a gun in 2.1 seconds. In less than 2.1 seconds can you identify the threat, is it a weapon, where is the threat, is it safe to shoot, is it legal to shoot. All of this in under 2 seconds. can you do this?
