i've seen many two-three person based PLC security guard companies.. although there isnt much work in-office of a security guard providing company but would you hire guards from such companies? what about the training? is it enough for the guards to be ex-army? or they need to be trained specifically for their new jobs?

A lot of security firms are small bands of less than a dozen men, you will quite often find that they have served in the same unit as each other in the forces. I have found working for a small outfit preferable to working for the larger organizations

the cost .... it all depends in what country you are... And what security you want to provide - armed/unarmed or door security etc..

But you will need lot of staff. Most companys are small cause they have no money to make a succesfull start. They do their policies and procedures themselfs. Which are unprofessional, and make their liability high...

There are way to many issues to name.
If you want to start security company, get professional certified security consultant,to do the job for you.

If you dont have money , to hire security consultant, i doubt you have any to start your company...

A friend of mine recently started a security guard company in Asia and he provided security staff for shopping venues, factories and housing estates. His start up costs was minimal. He spend some money on renting an office, some ads in the paper and money to set up a registered company.
