Pepper sprays for self defence

Its very usefull in case of woman who don't have a lot of training and would like to defend they selfs . Who many of you carry one ?

I do not carry them, as you have to be careful because you can be charged if you use this. You cannot just spray someone because they are making you feel uncomfortable you have to wait until they make a move. I have read some stories where people are being charged because they became trigger happy so to speak.

I grew up with a fantasy for certain weapons which could save me from certain ghost encounters, when I was a child. I was delighted when I came across this Pepper Gun-it oozes out chemical based chili powder which impairs the attacker temporarily-what an brilliant idea. I do own one but have not used as yet but it gives me a great feeling of confidence.

Whenever I am abroad, my wife always carries some pepper spray around and keeps a can next to the bed. She can't really fight so I feel saver if she has this with her.

I carried it for the period of time. But I had not used it. I think it is very effective. I also likes the simplicity of using it.

Does anyone know how long the effect of pepper spray is on a person? It is a few seconds, minutes or perhaps even hours? If you are at your house for example then does it buy you enough time to get out?

I was also wondering what is the shelf-life of something like pepper spray. How long will the pepper stay effective? How long will the propellant last if the spray isn't used for years?

That again is a different question. I would imagine that there is some type of expiration date on the cans. Similar to what you would find on a carton of milk for example.
