Blackwater is a very large security force with military type training and they are in the war zone so yes you do expect deaths. It's a part of the job and they know it may happen to them.

Is this also the group (some of the men) that are on trial for killing someone. I thought I read something about this and that they were from blackwater, but are being put on trial for defending themselves as far as I read.

Blackwater has had a number of deaths among their staff however you should try to find the statistics on how many innocent people they have killed. They are not the nicest of crews.

I'm not the biggest fan of Blackwater. They may provide a service that is needed, but by killing some innocent people, they sure make themselves and Americans look bad.
