Hi guys,

If you would take the best fighters from all the various forms of martial arts then who do you think would win. Would it be someone from a Karate background for example or possible someone with Thai kickboxing background?

Check out the first two Ultimate Fight Championships. The Gracie family wanted to know how their JiuJitsu would stand up against other martial arts. Royce Gracie demonstrated that once a stand up practitioner was taken to the ground, their skills were useless. Not saying that JiuJitsu is the best but it sure has changed the world of martial arts.

If you are watching MMA then you would notice that there is no such thing as better martial arts. It all depends on the skills and toughness of the individual.

Take for example the match between Brock Lesnar with his fight Randy Couture. I was expecting Randy Couture to win because he knows a lot of style but I was disappointed because the brute force of Brock Lesnar prevails.

The thing I don't like about the MMA system is that is it not a true fight. The original Gracie sponsored events were closer to true fights because there were no weight classifications, no rounds and no time limits. The only rules were no eye gouges and no groin attacks. Othewise, everything goes. To me, that is the ultimate test of a martial artist and his style.

It depends on the skills and type of body of that particular practitioner. There's no such thing as the "best" martial arts. Only practitioners, more or less talented.
