Have any of you guys worked over in Iraq? If you have how did you find the conditions on a day to day basis?

My ex-boyfriend is over there now working K&R. He says it isn't that bad if you have enough money to pay for your protection. The soldiers are good targets because of political reasons but private security people don't have the same cache.
He is making amazing money. I'd go over if I could but as a woman I would face way too many problems because of the culture.

I haven't been to Iraq myself no.
Missy my prayers are with you and your boyfriend and I hope he is safe in Iraq and everything goes smooth for him and he's back in your arms in no time.

Bit of a typo there Drew, if you have a read missy said ex-boyfriend, so him returning to her arms is possibly the last thing she wants :)

I must admit, when I hear about what the guys out there are getting paid I am tempted. But then I just switch on the TV, and see that it is hell on earth - you can't even tell who are friendlies.
I think I'll leave it for now

I'm never been to Iraq but I went to a public speech of one of the soldiers that was there for several years. Well all I have to say is that I don't go there anytime. However, I do respect the troops that are there they are amanzing men and women.

I have been asked by two different firms to go to Iraq. The salary offered was pretty good as well as the secondary benefits. I have spend some time in country and I would rather not return to Iraq.

KBR (if that's the name of the company you're ex works for, is a huge firm that employs and deploys foreign workers in many parts of the Middle East. I'm not sure what the situation for women is in Iraq, but I'd say being Caucasian and American/European puts you at a huge advantage.
