I have read some things about some location using intrusion tests to train their employees to be better prepared for things to happen. Then have also read were now ex employees are claiming it was only a way for the company to fire them.

I would like to know if you believe that a mock intruder test is a good tool for training or is this just a way for companies to fire people they no longer want working there?

I really don't think that mock intrusion tests would be of any real benefit to regular staff to be honest and it seems a very crude way of losing your staff

Can you possibly explain why you do not think that they would be of real benefit and I do agree that it would be a very unprofessional way of getting rid of staff.

I don't think it's a good practise to use it to fire your employees. As for being good for training, I believe it would only be good if the employee previously had some training in what to do in that type of event. Then another follow up after the mock intruder test to make sure the employee knows what they did right or wrong.

I would agree with you on that it is pointless to have it for training if you are not following up on this.

I guess proof that it was used to fire someone might be that there was no further follow up explaining what they did wrong. I thought this was interesting and wanted to see what others thought about this.

I think the problem starts from when you hire the person and not only if they don't past a test such as this mock intruder thing. They have to make sure that the staff they hire is qualified to do their job. However, Practice is a good way to keep everything smooth.

both private and govt security agencies are known to try their employees against mock intrusions and attacks. i think its a really good idea to have them prepared for a real life situation. organizations can also determine incapable employees through these. i am totally for it.
however, i am not sure about the misuse aspect.
