Do you think the USA is right in building 14 permanent military bases in Iraq? Is this the type of foreign policy the US should be implementing? The CIA already cited the US military being on the Holy Land as part of the problem of "Blowback".

I do think the USA is going to build 14 military bases in Iraq even when some people don't think they have the right to do so. But hey! how is the US going to control the Oil anyway?

Permanent is a very long word, I remember other permanent bases being built that are now deserted, until the region is stabilized the UK and the USA should not be going anywhere

This was posted nearly one and a half years ago. I think at the moment that there will be much less permanent US military bases planned if any. That's what happens when you elect a Democratic candidate.

It's not just Iraq. The US military has permanent military installations in various parts of the world, whether the host country's government like it or not, Uncle Sam's sons seem to have a knack at getting what they want.

There have been lot of controversies over this issue-some people support this move and some are against it. I fully support this act, things were too bad in Iraq and would have worsened even further if US army had not intervened.

Well reading the news reports off the last few days, Obama wants to move all US military out within the next 180 days so it seems that there would be no permanent US army bases.
