With concerts you have a lot of teenagers attending and concert promoters want to have as safe an environment as possible so is security adequate enough? At some concerts they ban certain clothing such as gang clothing, is this a good practice?

The worst security at a concert was back in the late 60's when the Rolling stones hired the Hell's Angels to provide security for $500 worth of beer- though both sides subsequently denied it.

Four people managed to wind up dead. A couple of people got killed in an auto accident amidst the chaos, and one person managed to drown in a drainage ditch. The famous death, of course, was Meredith Hunter who was stabbed multiple times and kicked to death on film right in front of the stage by Hell's Angels during the Rolling Stones set.

Large open air event are always hard to manage generally through the sheer number of people in attendance, the Stones story is nealry 40 years ago and events are a lot tighter than they used to be, with public liability and the sue culture, no one is going to use th elike of the Angels for security, for one thing sponsors would not accept it

I guess that depends on the type of music/artists of the concert. I mean I'd f el pretty safe if I go to a Jazz, blues concert, I guess. But I think I'd feel a way more concern about my security if I go to a Marilyn Manson's concert, although I think I'd still go

I have worked security as some dance music events in Europe and we are looking for other things. We tend to look out for drug dealers and other similar types of trouble.

Been to many hard core rock concerts in my time, never had a problem with security or feeling insecure about being there. I remember at ACDC concert in utah some people were trampled to death and some injured, that is when they did away with General Admission tickets and everyone now has a seat. That is because the crowd control had no way of controlling the crowd when they all rush the stage to be close. This is not the fault of the band or security or the venue I think people are just like animals in some cases.

Well, these days, there's plenty of security cameras outdoors, monitoring the streets and the usual open-air venues for events. I'm of the opinion these little things are making it easier to manage security under these circumstances.
