Considering the UK is one of th emost liberal countries in the world, its very strange to note that is has the most CCTV per head of population then any other country in the world

It's amazing the people would let the government do that though. I know they believe it makes them safer and all, but that is a bit too much.

I would have to agree as well. As people want to be secure in the US they are not so likely to let the government be involved that much. Do they really believe they are that much safer?

I think it is very nice of the British government to try to keep their population safe. That doesn't happen in the US because it is a big country and a lot of people would try to oppose anything of this kind. I still think the UK government is doing the right thing.

I think it has too much of a Orwellian feel to it all. If people accept this now what else will they accept in the future? Sure it has the appearance of making them safer and it makes the people feel safer.

IT may not be a bad idea to be watched and it is not new also . Back in the days the king would have people what would watch the kingdom for him today the kingdom has CCTV

thats right.. having CCTV is not only beneficial for catching a criminal but it also is efffective in preventing crimes. a lot of first timer would prefer non CCTV protected shops for instance

I would start of my suggesting that the UK is really not one of the most liberal countries in the world. It is not really known like that in other countries. Secondly the CCTV cameras throughout London has dramatically decreased crime so I don't think that it is really a bad thing.

UK has stopped being one of the most liberal countries since the subway attacks. You can't take pictures now without being reported as suspicious. You can't carry a backpack or a bag without being reported. You can't have dark skin without being reported.
