Well to be honest, I'm not certain. A person carrying a gun anywhere makes them a very dangerous individual. I mean, anything could happen. I think if you did or if it was allowed, I honestly reckon the individual should be extremely cautious. Plus, majority of guards in the airport wouldn't actually know who was bad and who wasn't. Alot of wrong people would get through.

Most bodyguards are allowed by law to carry a gun and gun laws vary from state to state in the US as they do from country to country. Most people that have bodyguards will most likely be flying in private jets or planes but it is up to the bodyguard to know the laws of the state or countries that they operate in.

so having a gun is not the problem , we need to know if we know how to us it that is also important that we know how to use a gun and not just open fire when and where we want it that what you are saying

Definately knowing how to use a gun is iportant for anyone but with bodyguards carrying a gun in public it is even more so important. It would be a risk to public safety for a bodyguard not to have proper training with a gun just as it would if the police didn't have proper training.

Honestly a gun is a tool but it shouldn't be your only one. There are some places where you will not be allowed to have a gun (government buildings, public airplanes, many foreign nations) not to mention lots of times when you won't be able to use a gun because of the risk to your client or others. Some people get so focused on the gun they neglect keeping up their hand to hand training not to mention the ability to be watchful and prevent something before it goes down.
If you are not as dangerous without your gun as you are with it then you are in the wrong career.

Well, not everyone has hand-to-hand combat capabilities. Just because you're not great at fighting, close-range, doesn't mean you can't be an effective bodyguard. Everyone has their own style, their own niche. Some people might be alot better at hand-to-hand combat, and lacks the ability to fully utilize the gun. That doesn't make them a not dangerous. It doesn't mean they should find another career path either.

Using a gun isn't the only option when you are a bodyguard. It is really important to have some type of knowledge and training in defending yourself and the person you're protecting. Whether it's self defence training, martial arts or some other hand to hand combat training. Not all attackers will have a weapon and you can't just shoot an unarmed person. You'll need to be able to subdue them with non-lethal means.

I don't think guns in an airport should be allowed at all. I mean come on... We have seen so many terrorists attacks that to me it doesn't even make sense that people think about carrying a gun to the airport, but that is just my opinion... Scissors are even dangerous, now just imaging a gun!
Plus there are no needs to have a gun at the airport nowadays it should one of the safest place to be in.

Guns should not be allowed in airports except by the security forces. It beggars the question, why would you want a gun in a airport?

If every citizen carried a gun I believe it would deter criminals from committing crimes. If you were a criminal and everyone around you was armmed would you try anything? Most people are law abiding citizens so they would not use their guns for anything but defensive purposes. The only reason the government wanted to get guns out of the hands of citizens was to prevent them from defending themselves against the government.

I say NO to guns in Airports or any other public areas... I think it is fine if you have a gun at your own home for security of your family (and don't shoot yourself please) but other I don't think I want to walk around knowing that some other people have a gun with them (unless it is a police officer of course).

Many states are now opting to require concealed weapons permits, which not only includes guns but other weapons as well. So you would be allowed to carry if you have the appropriate permits. But it is your responsibilty to know the rule in each state or country you travel to.
I am not sure that all security in an airport should have carry guns have you watched some of those people? Other people in airports should have guns as well. I think that is why they started hiring more US Marshalls, so that you would be more protected. The fact that many airports are not checking their security agents backgrounds before they are hired is a very good reason why not to just give them a gun. Many of them have no need for one. Roving officers maybe.

Why should someone carry a gun in the airport anyway?
From what I know they already have lots of security guards roaming around for the safety of their passengers. I think that there is no need to carry a gun.

I would like to own a gun and carry it along for safety purposes, it is so scary these days-you just don't know who around you is a criminal and is going to pull out a gun and fire a round at innocent people. At airports there are cases of hijacking and if some one amongst passengers have a gun and averts the tragedy I think there is nothing wrong in it. Gun for self defense purpose should be allowed.

There are obviously certain types of people that should be allowed to carry guns in an airport which would include airport security, law enforcement and the military for example.

I've no desire to carry a gun and I'm not advocating that others do. There are actually people who are suggesting that the airport should qualify as a place where it's allowed to carry concealed weapons. While we have the right to defend ourself, there should always be limitations.

There are people that carry guns at airports which include police and airport security for example. However I do not see the need for anyone else to carry weapons at the airport.
